The main purpose of the event was about ways:

  1. To work together to raise awareness in the community
  2. To promote support for people living with SCD and their families.
  3. To promote the need for effective educational programmes on SCD and Thalassaemia
  4. The need for a national genetic screening programme for SCD and Thalassaemia for all expectant mothers, new born babies and adults.
